I don't know if you've seen the original Night of the Living Dead- but there are references in Shaun to the original NOTLD. When they say "We're coming for you Barbara" on the phone, to Shaun's mom, that's a direct take off on the beginning of Night of the Living Dead- and the dialog in that movie :-)
