I remember talking about this with you before. I dislike the concept, but agree with the man who said, "I feel we have an obligation to do everything possible to get our kids to come and stay in school." That if anything can help, it may mean pushing aside one's own philosophy.
I do hope if it doesn't show results, they quickly eliminate it, however.

BTW, that was an excellent article. It presented the different opinions and possibilities- pro and con, positive and negative- without any biased language. That it stood out to me for that reason says a lot about the writing in the MSM these days.

a student who misses not a single day per quarter will receive $25 in an account

I got a perfect attendance certificate at my high school when I graduated. I didn't even realize that I hadn't been absent. Between brothers and sisters and neighbors all piling into the back of a pickup each morning you just got caught up in the rush.

I think bribing for good behavior is a reasonable, maybe good idea in high schools. I would like to see enough opportunities based on grades, attendance, winning the big game, or other criteria. I think the key is to be sure that it is something completely objective, since teens sniff favoritism that adults can't detect. I think it would have a small but noticable positive effect.
