Part of the rightwing strategy is to deny any and all lies, scandals, corruption, failures and deceptions no matter how obvious or proven. Think about it. In five years, not a single Bushie has ever admitted making a mistaken or doing anything wrong. When Bush was asked about it once he admitted he makes mistakes, but wouldn't say which ones. Big promotions of Bush's: Rice, Wolfowitz, Rove, Bolton - all people guilty of lies and/or failures. Rumsfield and Cheney remain in power despite mammoth lies and failures. Halliburton remains the #1 contractor of the US government despite hundreds of millions in stolen loot. Delay remains the head of congress despite gross corruption.
