RE periphery or death, absolutely, in a global race to the bottom you have to go to cheaper and cheaper labor sources.

I have said time and again in a small town in south georgia they went from american to latin to african laborers - wild adventures theme park - hostile african regimes didn't seem to stop that process for them - you say it will stop it for GM and other MNC's though, and I can't see if MNC puts enough pressure and money into african leaders they can't go there too. You tell me regimes there won't allow it, I don't see how in 10-20 years GM can't pay off a kofi annan type to get even better slaves/laborers in africa than they have from chinese children - I just post that link to all those new CHINESE colleges, when rice grower gets world class education he maybe want better rights and more benefits than what he is getting now - the only place for MNC left to go for slave labor is less educated and cronyism government. You are the grunt though working down in the trenches, why do you think if GM in 20 years puts time effort and resources into getting corruptable people in africa to enslave thier people for the betterment of the corporation it won't happen? It has happened everywhere else - it has happened in south georgia at the theme park.
