OK, here's one: the GNP per-hour-worked in higher in France then it is in the US. (The lesser output per capita in France seems largely because they TAKE MORE TIME OFF FROM WORK --- averaging a 5 week long annual vacation per person --- then we do.) That is simply a choice made about the amount of leasure time. "I understand we are on track to have a 5% GNP growth 4th qtr of this year. INCREDIBLE isnt it?" Yep... that's pretty 'incredible', (& it would be very welcome if it ever comes to pass), but with the official revisions downward from national growth since the recession, it seems unlikely.
