It's old communist propaganda. They're still spewing the party line, but their ideology is discredited, and they're stuck with nothing but their hatred for America It comes out in the liberal critique of US foreign policy. It's a Materialist v. Idealist analysis of events. The Marxist materialist explanation discounts ideological motivations in favor of material causation. "It's all about oil", or "it's a response to what we do". The ideas that drive behavior, ideology, don't even seem to register in the equation. Derek

I'm beginning to think the enemy within is as dangerous as our external foes. Maybe more so, because it's a stealth enemy. I have moved toward that view since I started this thread. It's too bad. It's not good for the country. And it leaves us open to real rage if the left gets the government back. You listen to the younger liberals and realize that they have no idea where their rhetoric came from. Straight Marxist criticism. Tinged with Chomskyism. The fact that their philosophy has lost it's core socialism leads them to incoherent solutions. I added KOS to my reading recently just to try to keep me in touch with the hard left thought. But they are really influenced in their Islamist thinking by the fact that they agree with the criticisms of us by Osama. And "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."
