"I think it was the right vote based on what Saddam Hussein had done, and I think it was the right thing to do to hold him accountable," he told Mr. Imus, saying his position "can't be clearer."
But Mr. Kerry's answers left Mr. Imus, who frequently describes himself on air as a Kerry supporter, flummoxed.
"I asked him a number of questions about Iraq, and I can't tell you what he said," Mr. Imus said after Mr. Kerry hung up.

Kerry was 100% right on Iraq and Bush lied and blew it.

Voting yes for authorized force only means you're approving real teeth in the president's threats. As I've posted many times, Kerry made it very clear that his support was very much conditional upon:

- Bush telling the truth, invasion only as a last resort (Bush lied)
- Before invasion, exhaust all diplomatic, UN remedies (Bush didn't)
- Finish inspections (Bush didn't)
- Build strong coalition and prepare for to win the peace because the invasion would be the easier part (Bush didn't at all)

You're criticizing Kerry for being 100% right. Bush meanwhile not only lied to congress, he went right ahead and invaded after BS'ing the UN, dissing our allies and not bothering to prepare for the occupation. During the invasion, his lack of planning showed. He secured the oil-fields and airport, but little else, including ammo dumps, utilities, antiquities museum and open borders. Then Bush announced "mission accomplished" and patted himself on the back. What a loser.
