Oh please. First the rightwing calls liberals "bleeding hearts" for caring about the needy so much, then you attack them for not caring. Make up your minds. One thing we know, the massive corporate boondoggling and trillion dollar ripoff of America under Bush-Cheney makes it impossible for us to be able to afford to take care of needy people, or anything else. Bush has mounted such huge deficits, much of the money going to his corporate and oil cronies, that our society is basically going to be left bankrupt, though the rich and some of the big corps (especially oil companies) will be overflowing with money. As a centrist, I am for common sense safety nets, taxing the rich fairly and pay as we go economics. No easy hand-outs for anyone unless you're an injured war veteran or something. But two things we have to protect are our environment and our liquidity. Both of those are under assault by Bushies. With extreme prejudice. Later on we will need national health care, but for now Bushies have busted the piggy bank. We're broke. Even if we don't know it yet.
