Well, let's hope that food production is adequate. But that requires fuel and fertilizer, and both of those depend heavily on hydrocarbons. And a lot of us now think that we really are going over the hump for available oil and natural gas.

Some of the commodity boom would be metals, which are more expensive to produce.

In any case, the end of the decade is five years away, and any boom that lasts five years is an opportunity for investment.

I have about 60% of our household net worth in oil and gas, especially Canadian oil and gas.
