*sigh* You know I try to take long term horizons when I invest, and even though many wise and correct souls from this thread told me housing would burst I still felt long term a nice palm beach home bringing rent would be a good long term investment. Tax rates for me are much lower than recent purchasers. Sure it may lose 30% next year but in another 10 or 20 years far more than make up for it. But after coming back down here and really looking around, I don't see it. It seems to me little mexico is spreading and the crime and drugs and 3rd world backward ways spreading with it. I was in palm springs talking with some police - now thier response time is 5 minutes compared to the 2 hours of palm beach police - they said that made houses worth at least 50K more in palm springs. But when talking to realtors in the palm springs area - they say no, the people moving here dont ask about police response and we dont bring it up - its a non issue. If you cant get a premium on a house because police come in 5 minutes compared to 2 hours on the market - that tells me a lot about the buyers. Senore don't care about police response times - in fact he probably want to live in the house where they come slower so he can hide his marijuana stash faster *sigh*
