"Jeezus!!! The CIA should be closed down, fire them all and we should start over again.... That is incredible..."

Tongue-in-cheek, JL? :)

I don't see this allegation as evidence of a problem with the hard-working professionals (spys & or analysts) at the Agency, far from it.

Rather, it seems to be a cautionary tale against letting partisans or pols suppress or influence the work of the professionals and the experts.

The place for POLITICAL input is at the top of our government, where elected officials (partisans all, 'natch), temporary occupants of government offices, make policy and act on the available evidence that is brought to them by the professionals in the bureaucracy.

The place for political input should NOT BE in the collection or analysis of evidence --- only in decisions about it's use.

Politically Correct is a filter that should never be used on raw evidence.

It's good to hear from you that you think intelligence that doesn't support a particular bias should be considered and not buried.

In that I think you differ from the current administration.
