ISM's price index is at a 40 month low now (according to today's WSJ's bond market column).

-------------------------

Not only did manufacturing activity turn in its best showing for the year, but the ISM survey showed that price pressures had moderated. The ISM prices paid index fell below 50 in July, reaching 48.5, down from June's 50.5 reading. It was the first sub-50 reading for prices paid in 40 months, ISM said.

Norbert Ore, the survey director, said in a statement that "pricing power, at least for the short term, is now once again favoring buyers."

I'll try to calm down now. (But, don't forget -- there's just so much inflation out there right now. Just ask Alan Greenspan ...)
