"don't think Iran will give up those programs and I don't think there will be war either for the simple reason that the US is already tired of war and especially having to fight Israel's never-ending wars against every conceivable enemy, real and imagined. In my opinion, it's absolutely unacceptable that 3 million gung-ho Israelis, and their Zionist pals in the US, are holding the whole world to ransom on the basis of 4000 year old religious fantasies."

I'm surprised at that statement. It goes against US publicly stated policy. Iran has been in the US gunsights for many years, and if Iran persists in her nuclear ambition, the US will attack in my opinion. It may not be an all out war and occupation a la Iraq, but the nuclear threat will be dealt with.

If Iran develops nuclear weapons, Iran can not only threaten Israel, but also put enormous pressure on Arab states. And of course, to get any respect at all, every nation in the region will want to catch up. It doesn't look good in my opinion.

Rightly or wrongly, and I may add hypocritically, the US and other nuclear powers, having developed their ultimate weapons of mass destruction, are saying "we have them, but you can't have any." And here I must agree, even if it is unfair. The alternative is too awful to contemplate.

Think of the fear if Iran were to announce it possessed the atomic bomb, and maybe exploded a few to demonstrate it. Fear not just in Jerusalem, but in London, Washington and other seats of power. The world would be far better off without ever having developed the bomb, the world would be wonderful if man could just learn to love and respect each other, but that is just not the case. Can you think of an alternative to the enforced nuclear non proliferation treaty?
