My father was brushing up against ninety before he started getting noticeably dotty so I'm hopeful. He still crosses the street. He waves one of those multi-footed canes at traffic bearing down on him. They probably wonder why he needs the cane if he can swing it over his head while walking but they still slow down when they see him. Anyway, his main hope is to go quickly when he goes and traffic on the fast paced avenue where he lives would likely have that effect.
