That the world takes a dim view of the US people will surprise most Americans themselves: the study's American respondents consistently placed the US at the top of all six categories polled.<

Most Americans don't get out of America enough or even at all nor does the U.S. media report enough on international events and trends. Also, U.S. media is generally not self critical which supports wrong perceptions.
