Yup
I had the same reaction. Such odd interpretations of other people's lifestyles always make me go "huh?". I love how certain people are of what is clearly an error. I mean somewhere there are probably some depressed secular folks (depressed about more than just the way religious people tend to see them), but I can't say I've ever met any- and I don't believe that the hand wringers who talk about depressive torpors, or the terrible anguish of the meaningless void, have met more secular folks than I have. I suspect ( and this is just a guess based on their writing) that the folks who are really depressed about the void, become religious, and then project the feelings they had about the void, on others- which is kind of silly of them, because if those other folks felt that way about the meaningless void, they'd probably turn to religion too. Sometimes (or maybe all the time) the void isn't a void at all, sometimes it's a mirror (imo).
