I believe WR Hearst fabricated a Spanish attack on a US vessel. That got us into war in Cuba. In Vietnam it was the phony Tonkin Gulf attack which never happened. In Iraq it was Saddam's non-existent nuclear program plus a bunch of non-existent bio-chemical weapons and non-existent Al Qaida connections.

The Spanish-American War is really one to be proud of, murdering thousands of unarmed men, women and children for no reason whatsoever. You don't know why it started? Are you really Bill the Cat?
