Many things have conspired to strip our youth of values. I believe that removing parents, local adults and historical figures as the primary role models for our youth and replacing them with Hollywood types has had the largest impact. Society's degradation accelerated as the Hollywood's degradation accelerated.

How many people sarcastically thanked Clinton for forcing them to educate their children about oral sex? The movies that were R when I grew up would now be rated PG-13 if not PG.

You are right that the values imparted into young Americans through the connection between a drill Sergeant’s boot and the recruits head are some very important ones. You are correct that the all-volunteer armed forces allow people like Kerry to completely escape service. Does it appear that he learned good values?
