Amen!!

I agree. Public humiliation.

My worst moment.....most embarrasssing....... was at oral argument in front of our NH Supreme Court....it was my first in front of that body....and the CJ allowed the opposing party to run over the alotted time in argument...so when I stood up to the podium he told me to put my stuff away as they had used up all the time for that case....of course everyone but me realized he was joking...... I was so nervous and concentrating on my presentaiton...so I actually started to put my stuff away...everyone started laughing....I was the only one who did not get the joke....I must have been crimson!!

J.

<<It's actually acutely embarrassing to be in front of a judge you know when you've screwed up.>>

Works well if it's the reverse. Back in 1977, after a Ducks Unlimited dinner, I found our States Attorney in a snowy parking lot with a car that wouldn't start. He had spent a little too much time at the cash bar and had the idea he was going to push his car 39 blocks home. I talked him out of that and gave him a ride home. He ran for and became a judge.

A few years later I had jury duty and was supposed to show up on opening day of deer season. I gave the bailiff a note to the judge and deer hunting became a reason to be dismissed. 5 minutes into the season I bagged an 8 point buck that field dressed 227 pounds.
