Like I said before, here in California a teacher makes $50K a year, which isn't bad considering he or she gets the summer off as well. You've taught before -- summer off isn't all that great when in order to do a good job you have to work several unpaid hours every night to prepare for the next day's classes. If you are teacher and have a family in CA, you either have to have a second job or your wife has to have a great job. $50K in LA, SD, SFO, OC is chump change. ted
