<Wrong. I have a soul. It is just not a Christian soul.>

Christianity has nothing to do with eternal life or not... I just thought the following made it clear you couldnt think you had a 'soul'... my mistake:

<One can have a soul without believing in immortality of the soul.>

Right... although if you believe your 'life energy' or any other 'energy' ["energeia",the "force that allows all things to grow, develop and bloom, like a flower. "] comes from the soul, or is the soul, then the belief would be unscientific since it's my understanding energy cannot be destroyed or created. That is a source of confusion for me... your soul would have to go somewhere... it couldn't just disappear. Of course that doesn't mean it's speaking english, or thinking, or doing anything that would make sense to us in our paradigm. BTW, all the great mystics listed by me believe the soul goes on... all ZEN/Daoist masters/mystics, Hindu/Buddhist masters/mystics, and of course Christian's as well as you mentioned. FWIW, even in sceintific Western society, when observational data points in a direction, further inquiry follows. IMO it's organized religion which has obfuscated the observational data {Catholic Church excommunicated mystics or called their observations heresy for instance}. As I said before, the latest in physics has some starting to look to this data.

<I am not a Christian. That is to say, I have absolutely no desire for an eternal happiness.>

As I said, all the major religions believe in 'eternity'... it's not a Christian monopoly.
