It is 100% perfectly logical that 6-Day-Creationist Fundamentalist would express their honest belief that Intelligent Design is no different than Darwinists beliefs.

One believes in God or does not. From one's beliefs based upon science and/or simple faith one can construct a system of ones self-evident truths.

Now one's belief or faith may find another's false, but believing another has a false faith or belief is in itself not good or bad. Both American law and Christian doctrine simply define tolerance.

Those folks treat the Bible like a knitted sweater. Start pulling on the 6 day creation thread and pretty soon the whole thing unravels.

I think it's much more durable than that.

You can imagine how "we believe in evolution" actually pleases your 6-day-Creationist Fundamentalist.

It seems to be that the bright line is between the biblical literalists and the rest of us. ID has much more in common with agnostic thinking than it has with creationism, seems to me. Once you cross the bright line of accepting that the earth is old and creatures evolve, the remaining differences are not insurmountable. This isolates the "6-day-Creationist Fundamentalist." The only significant objection my agnostic self has with ID is framing it as science.
