Enron and Bush helped each other enormously. While Bush was governor, the two heaped money, deregulatory licenses to steal and favors on each other. Entering the 2000 campaign, Bush-Cheney ran operations out of Enron HQ and Enron paid Ralph Reed 150 K as an "energy consultant" , gave the Bushies free private jets and lavish parties. Many of the top Bushies were big Enron stockholders.

Worst of all, when Enron ran its fraudulent phony every crisis at the west coast, they used Ed Gillespie (whom Bush later promoted to head the RNC) to wage a 7 million TV ad campaign blaming Enron (and other energy company cronies) huge-huge crimes on the victims - especially Grey Davis.

Before Enron collapsed, Bush wanted Enron's Ken Lay to Secretary of the Treasury or Energy. Crooks all.

Ken Lay and the insiders did very well, but the common shareholders didn't.
