I used to believe this. I hope it is still true. So, if Rove, Libby or anyone else is indicted after this tremendously long, detailed search by an impartial investigator, first appointed by Bush the First, and the indictment (which carries quite a bit of weight by itself) leads to conviction or plea deal......the republicans will be howling for the maximum penalty? I wonder.

No need to wonder...this Republican will....same answer to your second "wonder".....

How many dems howled for the maximum penalty when BJ Billy Bubba was found to have misled a federal court, submitted cooked affidavits, etc?

Government officials are supposed to be held to a higher standard of trust than talk show hosts. I support the maximum penalty for government officials convicted of breaking a law.

How many Democrats here will say the same thing?
