dreading the fact that I will have to pull the plug on all of this when it heats up.

No matter what it does, it's still better than bodily functions as a topic. <g>

Yeah, I know what you mean. Tough thing to discuss without letting it get out of hand. But it is part of "politics", due to the Presidents recent comments. So, maybe if we stay in context it will work out ok for a while.

From the political angle of the issue, I think the President is setting a land-mine for Democrats. The last thing they should do is go down the "attack the religious voter" road again and again. Regardless of ones belief's, it's a road to losing campaigns in many areas of the country.

Amazing, but this bull session <g> seems pretty civil so far, and quite interesting. There are a lot of viewpoints, and good discussion, without a lot of obvious rancor, but also without much in the way of convincing anyone to change their currently held beliefs (scientific, religious or other).

I am reading the posts, and dreading the fact that I will have to pull the plug on all of this when it heats up.
