I don't understand how a tourist from Europe renting a car in the U.S. can keep him/herself from getting a dozen speeding tickets. U.S. roads our HUGE, flat and straight compared to most European roads.

I'll have to set an egg on the accelerator the next time I'm in the states.

Also, since so many roads have unlimited speed limits in Europe (or speeding is ignored), the car manufacturers have adapted and the cars have better performance and handling at high speeds.

It would be interesting to see statistics just looking at a demographic such as 21-35 year old male drivers etc. My assumption being our statistics are greatly influenced by 16-21 year old male drivers.

Just look at their insurance rates!
