Simply Hired (www.SimplyHired.com), a Silicon Valley search engine startup, today announced the company has raised $3 million in a Series B round of angel financing. Lead investors include Rajeev Motwani, a Stanford University computer science professor, early investor and technical advisor for Google, Inc. "We limited this round to strategic angels and experienced entrepreneurs to focus on accelerating the company's early growth and market development," said Gautam Godhwani, founder and CEO of Simply Hired. "The value we get from investors with operating experience is as much based on knowledge and guidance as monetary contribution, and is a tremendous validation of our business model." In addition to veteran angel investors, the round includes notable entrepreneurs Michael Tanne, founder of the Internet advertising company Adforce (Nasdaq:ADFC), James Hong, founder of top-50 Internet site HotOrNot.com.

The company also announced that Guy Kawasaki, managing director of Garage Technology Ventures will be joining the Simply Hired board of directors. "I was convinced we should invest when I found Simply Hired has five times as many 'evangelist' job listings as name-brand job sites," said Kawasaki.

Market Hot For Up-and-Coming "Operations Management" Company with "Must Have" Technology, Fortune 500 Customers, and Experienced Board of Directors

Mountain View, CA, August 2, 2005 — Serus Corporation - an enterprise software solution provider that helps companies manage their outsourced manufacturing operations - today announced the completion of a $5.3 million round of Series B financing and the addition of prominent technology visionaries to its board of directors.

The round was co-led by Raman Khanna, managing director for Diamondhead Ventures, and private venture capitalists Dr. Prabhu Goel, chairman for iPolicy Networks, and Naren Gupta, vice-chairman for Wind River Systems. Also participating in the round were Kelly Porter, managing partner for ZAP Ventures and all of the investors that participated in the company's Series A funding round.

The company expanded its board of directors to include Dr. Prabhu Goel and Raman Khanna. They will join Ruby Sahiwal, chief executive officer for Simpacta, Inc. and founder and chairman for Accelcia Business Services; technology consultant and long-time alumni of IBM and Oracle Jnan Dash; and Indu Navar, co-founder and chief executive officer for Serus. Dr. Goel was elected chairman of the board. As founder and CEO for Gateway Design Automation, he led the team that invented Verilog, the industry standard semiconductor simulation software package. In recent years, he has dedicated much of his time to helping privately held companies to flourish.

The first company to provide a customizable software system that integrates business processes and rule drivers among manufacturing partners, Serus Corporation was founded in 2001 by Indu Navar and Barbara Hoefle. They bootstrapped the company, growing it from a customer-funded operation to a successful company with accelerating revenues and tier-one customers. This influx of funding will be allocated towards sales and market development.

"This solution is so essential to the outsourced manufacturing environment that it is going to be on every manufacturing and financial executive's 'must-have' list," said Dr. Goel. "Unlike the various point solutions, Serus provides visibility and transactional capabilities across a company's entire supply and demand chain - which in turn provides management with real-time decision support information about their operation. Industry leading companies have been successfully using the solution for years - and now it's time to expand market presence." An experienced executive with more than 24 years enterprise computing and Internet infrastructure, Diamondhead Ventures. co-founder Raman Khanna understands what it takes to build a company. "In addition to differentiated technology and big market opportunity, a company's success stems from the strength, determination, and expertise of its founders," he said. "Indu and Barbara understood from day one that building a strong, customer-focused team - and giving them the tools they need to succeed - would give the company an edge in the market. Not only have they brought together a talented group of executives and individual contributors, but they have also empowered them. The results are internal alignment, superb customer satisfaction and an excellent product." In addition to co-founding Diamondhead Ventures and being actively involved in the growth of its portfolio companies, Khanna formerly led Stanford's 450-member team as their chief information officer. A charter member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), the world's largest organization for entrepreneurs, and a member of the Working Council for CIO's, Khanna is well-known for recognizing and mentoring Silicon Valley's most successful entrepreneurs. Chief executive officer Indu Navar noted that choosing the right board members to support Serus was an important step in the ongoing growth and development of the company. "Access to individuals with proven track records is important for any company. Raman and Prabhu understand how to build high-technology companies. They have expertise in building organizations and products. And they have the ability to expand the reach of this company through their extensive networks," Navar said. "Obviously, this influx of additional capital is critical to the growth of Serus at this time - particularly as we expand into existing and new markets and add new capabilities to our solution. But the infusion of intellectual capital is even more important to us, particularly as the company crosses the line from a start-up to a mature organization."
