His books on architecture and urban design are excellent. And I say this as someone who doesn't particularly agree with him (or a similarly gifted writer on architecture, Christopher Alexander) on political philosophy. Kunstler admires the pre-20th century human scale of the built landscape, and I think his predictions are sincere hopes rather than fears.
