It's pretty simple. Corporations control the political process now as never before. They dictate the terms, especially the financial services industry. They consider entry of illegals into the housing bubble to be in their interest.

The new socialism: Privatize profits, socialize risk. It's really more akin to national socialism than a republic, but none dare use that term (and BOTH parties are to blame, IMO).
