Cutting a deal with the prosecutor is called "settling a case." If every case went to trial, the system would break down.

When my clients are not guilty, I don't cut deals, just show the prosecutor the facts and if he won't dismiss the case, then I try them.

But you were the one who bragged that you never got convicted for all the speeding tickets you racked up over the years, "don't ask, I'll tell you no lies." You admit you broke the law, and brag you never got a conviction.
