I wondered about that myself. Roberts is such a straight arrow though I find it hard to believe he would go an illegal adoption route. Perhaps the NYT is hoping it would be a killer like Clinton nominee for Atty General, Zoe Baird, who didn't pay SS taxes for her housekeeper. I still find investigating the adoption records disgusting, though. Obviously they couldn't find anything else.

Not really, lots of Europeans have settled Central and South America.

I believe at the end of WWII, many Germans moved to Brazil and Argentina.
