Rapid Start Licensing:

Program runs through August 31st.

70 inquiries, 30 applicants, including nearly everyone they expect to license. They do not intend to license every applicant. They will announce the licensees after the Rapid Start period ends. They've received $8M in fixed fees, recorded as def revs to be recognized over 5 years. Thye are offering no color on licensing details, how many have licensed so far(beyond the 2 announced), or how many licenses are in the $8M.

IPR Revenue will be in Product Revenue as they begin to amortize the upfront fees and receive ongoing royalties.

Legal Fees:

There will be $5M-$10M in legal expenses in 2H05.

They said most of the legal fees were expected to be for the SBL litigation, and they expected this level of legal spending to go into mid-2006. IMHO, they have received applications for the Rapid Start program from all major companies they expected, thus they are anticipating legal fees beyond the SBL case to be small.

Guidance:

Sales growth 10-15% for Q3 and for FY2005
Earnings growth 20-30% for Q3 and FY2005, excluding legal expenses

Other:

Considering renaming the company to Intermec.
