Law and justice are two completely different and often incompatible creatures.

Anyone who believes that there is uniform justice under law is woefully wrong. I have seen terribly unjust things be done in the name of "law." It is a good ideal that breaks down utterly in the real world.

I know it's none of my business, but as someone who once held your point of view (that the rules didn't apply to me and that as long as I wasn't DIRECTLY hurting anybody my behavior was my own business) I have to say that I find your 'special person' attitude disturbing. This in spite of the fact that what you wrote above is true.

I was painting a closet and had to stop to say that, it was bothering me so much. I wish I were a better typist.

You could help matters by not bragging about your legal machinations to laymen.

I've seen enough of it to know I'm not going to stand at the empty crosswalk in an empty street at 3 a.m.in the morning in the driving rain waiting for the "walk" sign to go on.

many years ago in cherry hill n.j. area i waited @ 2am for red light to change at jug hand turn. I waited up to 5 minutes, no traffic and no light change. i had driven home from nyc. so i slowly went across the highway. I went about a block making turn on my street when i notice a police car come out of corner mobil gas station with his lights on. Sure enough he takes the turn onto the street and comes up behind me. cop is ready to give me ticket for going through the red light. Where do you live he says. I told him in that house over there two houses down from police station. gg

he tells me not to go through light again and leaves. I swear he was in the gas station operating the dam traffic lights. No way did he want to go into the station and make a fuss. I also expect he had no idea of who i knew in the town.
