I understand the theory of natural selection and it's based on observation of the natural world and logical reasoning (as is the hypothesis of intelligent design). For practical purposes it's untestable, of course. Which doesn't mean it isn't a good explanation of most things. Just not everything people give it credit for.

Both natural selection and intelligent design have religious implications and that troubles people with strong dogmatic religious beliefs, including both biblical fundamentalists and those with a strong bias against the idea of a God.
