What 'misstatements', WS? Re: "it appears I misunderstood him on that one point." Yah, that's what it looked like. Re: "The only "Gulf War" I am familiar with (as are most other folks) was the Gulf War in 1991 (AKA The Persian Gulf War). Hostilities ended with the signing of the "Gulf War Cease Fire Agreement". The 7+ year long Iran/Iraq War is commonly known as the Iran-Iraq war, which was NOT a "10 year war"." Not in the beginning. During that 1980s war it was referred to universally as the 'Gulf War'. Only after we had more wars in the region did people begin referring to the first Gulf War as the 'Iran/Iraq War'. I thought my use of the term would be perfectly clear, because I called the next war I referred to 'Desert Storm' to clearly eliminate any possibility for confusion. ... As I pointed out, the original Gulf War caused over 1 million deaths.
