I always loved listening to shortwave radio growing up (too many years ago). On Radio Moscow every night, they would have a program telling the news in perfect english with commentary targeted obviously to North America.

They would tell our news and their news and use interviews of how their workers were happy, no unions, no strikes, no unemployment, free healthcare, free retirement, etc. They would even read letters they claimed to receive from the US from people wishing things here were like Russia....

Quite entertaining but you always wonder how many Americans would believe the crap like ted...

Reminds me about what de Sade (the Marquis) wrote in one of his books: "Hospitals create diseases. If we removed all hospitals we would have no more sick people". Something like that, I read his books such a long time ago, could look it up at home though.

Or in former communist paradise East Germany, where unemployment did not exist, was down to zero percent.
Consequently no need for unemployment registers either...

You lived in East Germany too? Is there any place on the planet you've not lived?
