I knew a guy who owned a grocery-liquor store a few blocks from the US Capitol building and the Senate-Congressional office buildings. He said he would have been doing so much better if he could only have Ted Kennedy's liquor account. That was decades ago. Ted's incredible drinking was well known at that time around the Capitol. The amount he spent every week with his account at a local liquor store on Capitol hill was staggering.
