we should spend more, and train people in basic behaviors to be on guard for.....

I hope this is just a temporary state of affairs.

But thanks to these terrorists, this is probably going to last for quite some time.

These terrorists are pure losers. They couldn't possibly be thinking about winning and getting their way. If they thought that they would someday prevail, there will always be people that are going to use these terrorists methods and to even overthrow the terrorists in the very unlikely case where they may prevail.

The next worst thing that can happen to us, (although extremely unlikely, but terrorists prevailing would be the worst case) is if we start using terrorists type of thinking to solve our temporary terrorist problems.

That would be when we are forever profiling, searching, and snitching on each other and on our neighbors that we suspect are terrorists. Soon there would be a whole industry of snitchers that would take advantage of the situation. They would snitch on and falsly accuse their neighbors to get even for other stuff and or to take away their homes - like they did during Stalins reign in Russia.

What we need to do is put all this stuff into perspective and come up with solutions that are consistent with who we are - "the good people".

Some may snicker at my description of us as being the "good people" - the point is what is the use if we are not "the good people".
