I was amazed to find that the last time I renewed my car tabs (last month) that I just flew through the process. The emissions station was empty so I got right in. Had a nice chat with the attendant, who told me that if I lived just 6 miles further east I wouldn't have to have the emissions test at all.......even though I would still be living in King County. I immediately went to the license renewal office and it was empty too. Took me all of 5 minutes. I couldn't believe it.
