Yeah, well, I think then, if you got here and didn't have a disease, you were then legal. Probably then too, Mexico had even less people than we did, and wages weren't much different. Canada is an excellent example of a way to end illegal Mexican immigration, just bootstrap Mexico and spread the wealth until the Mexicans would see no advantage to coming here to work. Then, they could gripe about Guatemalan immigrants taking Mexican jobs!

so what china and india have 4-5 times people and much smaller nations. Population growth is what drives economic growth. This is one key reason USA is out trending japan and Europe in all growth stats. I think imigration policy needs to be smarter, but imigrants are not the problem. Remember unemployment is at 4.9% a number once thought impossible to attain. IMIGRATION is not the problem, nor is China. Its the DAMN LAWYERS!!!!!!-g-
