I see that you asked Alan not to post to you and that he replied that he would continue to reply to anyone he wanted to. Of course, you could have reached an agreement in private, and all of that is entirely your business and not mine, but I don't think it unreasonable to expect someone who interjects themselves into a conversation to at least make themselves acquainted with that conversation. If they don't want to because of a "no to or about" then they ought to consider staying out of the conversation to avoid any misunderstanding, such as arose here.
