I think the American brand of capitalism needs to be socialized a bit.

It already has been socialized quite a lot. Too much in fact.


Its been socialized in the same way as Fox News has been liberalized.

With the poor doing most of the tradeoffs.........I understand.

They have less resources. Picking the correct tradeoffs uses limited resources more efficiently, and so benefits the poor more than anyone else. The wealthy actually make more tradeoffs. Their wealth gives them more opportunities and thus more decisions to make.


Who makes the tradeoffs needs to be determined by the society in general and not by the wealthy. If we depend on the wealthy to determine who will make what tradeoffs, I can assure you those tradeoffs will be unpleasant for those making them and not very beneficial to the society as a whole.
