Ted, If that's your basis, there is no reason for you to stay in S. CA. American families move all over the world on a regular basis. Most people are mobile esp. if they have good reason.

It's not an either-or proposition. It's a question of how much of a hassle it is to move. I don't doubt that American families are more mobile than ever, especially those in my industry. But as you get more settled into an area, as your kids start going to school and making friends, as you become older and less flexible in your ways, then when it comes time to move on in your life, you'll tend to look around in your immediate vincinity for alternatives before moving out of the region.

This goes double if you own your own property and invested a lot of time, emotion, and effort making it your "Home Sweet Home."
