I was able to get 130 mph out of my VW sirocco in the 1980's. On the German autobahns though, that was the speed where frustrated Audi, BMW and Merc drivers in a hurry would tail gate you, flash their lights and blair their horns. Not bad for a four cylinder 1600 cc engine though, and this was driving in the UK -g-
