American autos HAVE improved greatly, especially if you compare them against earlier American examples. They still trail the Japanese, who haven't been waiting for us to catch up.

gjsentinel.com

"SUVs, the least reliable are the Land Rover Freelander, Lincoln Navigator, Volkswagen Touareg, Volvo XC-90, Hummer H2, Ford Excursion and Excursion, Porsche Cayenne, Chevy Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Nissan Armada, Mercedes-Benz M-Class and the Saturn View. Most reliable SUVs are Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Highlander, Mitsubishi Endeavor, Toyota Rav4, Honda Element, Honda CRV, Lexus LX470, Acura MDX and the Subaru Forrester."

Your Jeep isn't on either list. Notice the most reliable SUV's are ALL Japanese.

IMHO I would put the Dodge Rams and the Ford F150's over any foreign competition. I would put the Jeep Grand Cherokee over any foreign SUV at ANY price. jdn

Suggest you compare those products with the Nissan Titan and Armada, respectively.

My next "car" will be a Crew Cab Titan.

The Japanese carmakers still have the corner on reliability IMO, and have a significant edge in the area of fit and finish (although the American manufacturers have improved in recent years).
