This might surprise you. I voted for Bush and was for the war, but now, if things continue the way they have been, and the Iraqis do not step up to the plate, and our forces hands are tied from REALLY fighting, then I say bring them home.

Wow...there is hope...even for brain dead wingers like you.

Bring the troops home right away. This war is a lie...pure and simple. Who will be the next soldier to die for a lie?

Orca

We need to learn from the lesson of Vietnam. The reason that godawful waste of a war lasted so long was because the administrations of LBJ and Nixon kept saying "stay the source" and "victory is around the next corner", then "we can't cut and run", then "as soon as the South Vietnamese can take over", they finally they just bombed the hell out of the place to cover our exit.

It was a tragic end, but could not be avoided. We had 550,000 men over there and still couldn't pacify the place. We spent by what today's standards would be trillions of dollars. All because of a lie and a big mistake way back in the beginning.

Lesson, you can't win a war where you're in the wrong, the locals hate you and you're in the middle of a civil war where you can't tell friend from foe. That's the lesson. Plus, Vietnam was never any real threat to us to begin with.

So yeah I say get ready to cut our losses. I'll bet as soon as we're gone the terrorism comes to a stop.

Well, Brian, there is some hope here with you. But could we divert those American troops from Iraq to Afghanistan? Isn't that the place where they should have been all along? Send half the troops to Quetta, Pakistan and the other half on the Afghanistan side of the Afgan-Pak border so as to flush out Osama and Ayman?

As I said, Bush and his supporters like you have lost focus on the war against terrorism. You folks have with only a single focus which is Iraq and you emails bears that out. I would say bring back the troops along with Osama and Ayman, a thinking espoused by the liberals all along.

Proud to be a liberal. Not the type Rove talks about where he says that after 9/11 liberals wanted to provide therapy to the terrorists. Instead the type of liberal who all along knew that it is Rove and Bush who need therapy.
