So all we can really conclude is that there are lots of atrocities in war, on all sides, including the U.S. (at least in my opinion).

And I was also questioning whether the nuclear bombings in Japan were really necessary. There seems to be significant scholarly research coming out now that they were not.

Do you have an opinion on that?
