It seems a tiny scandal, important to conservatives only because it involves Air America.

"Tiny" or not, it merits SOME coverage, especially by the NYT, for which it is a local story. Remember, the NYT gave AA a ton of coverage when it debuted, and also reported on its audience size later on. And depriving underprivileged kids of summer camp and other programs sounds like a natural human interest story, but not to the NYT, apparently. Heck, the WaPo found room for a lengthy story on a Girl Scout mom absconding with the proceeds from a cookie sale, depriving the troop of their planned trip, but not a peep about Air America.

Choice of coverage as well as the angle says a lot about the news judgement of a paper. Is the NYT investigating this "8.8 billion unaccounted for"? Who knows? But here are some of their stories for today.
