re:You are being very cryptic and making very little sense. If you want to make your point understood, you need to be clearer.

You asked why the law was ridiculous, I provided you a picture of the real effect of the ban before and after.

Open a second browser and click on the two links, one in each browser and do a side by side comparison - that should clear things up for you.

His point is that the "assault weapons" ban banned guns for cosmetic reasons.

The so called assault weapons aren't used in crimes very often and never have been. They are large and so hard to conceal. They are expensive. They have less powerful close in effect than a shotgun, and are less useful at long range than a common hunting rifle. They are not automatic weapons. They where banned because they look like automatic weapons. Automatic weapons were already highly regulated.
