Well, it's a point of view you won't get from the Pentagon daily briefing. Not that people in the Pentagon don't care, of course they do. But it's their job to tell us how well the war is going, and CNN has the Pentagon press briefings, and so does C-SPAN and Fox, so it's there for you. Some things just never leave your memory. The dead child, the abandoned doll, both pathetically limp, the little shoe with the foot still in it . . . . I suspect that's why it bugs you, because it tugs at your own heartstrings.
